With the opening of Bambah boutique and My Vintage Parlour late last year, we’ve noticed the trend for vintage clothing slowly make it’s way to the Middle East region.
Gia London is not vintage but it is a brand which was born out of love for vintage inspired fashion. Starting out as a small market stall in Vintage lovers paradise Portobello market in London, the brand has gone on to become something of an “insiders secret” amongst fashion bloggers.
Stocked both online & in offline boutiques in Cairo, Kuwait, & Saudi Arabia, the head designer of the collection is a Muslim woman. Najia Alavi, is from the UK but her roots are in Pakistan, a country which she continues to be inspired by. The Gia London collection contains a lot of specialized embroidery, (such as the embroidery you can see on the picture left), which is done by hand in Karachi.
Cute, vintage inspired, hand embroidered dresses, loved by bloggers & available online, based in London but with roots in Pakistan. Gia is definitely one to help you stand out from the crowd.
