Never one’s to pass up an opportunity to channel our inner Minx, we were rather delighted to be asked by Minx nails in the US  if we wanted to follow in the handprints of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Blake Lively and have our nails minxed.

We said yes purely because we want our hellwafashionista’s to be first in the know (nothing at all to do with the fact that sometimes secretly we want to be Lady Gaga).

Off we went to Beauty Connection Spa on Sheikh Zayed Road (the busiest salon in the whole entire planet) and became known as the “sticker girls” for the rest of the afternoon.

Here’s how you get minxed: You get a mani/pedi, then you pick the colour you would like ( we picked the gold colour left), your “stickers” are then placed under a lamp, before they are stuck onto your fingers, after which they are filed down to the length of your nails.

With minx the nail technician is important, the application on my feet was better than the application on my hands. Skill and precision is needed to apply them properly.

Gotta say I’m loving what I now call the “Minx effect”, every woman I meet saying “ooooohhhh what have you done to your nails?”
