Editoral Policy |
|
There are some things money can’t buy and editorial content on hellwafashion.com is one of them. Just like the perfect man and Kate Moss’s innate sense of style editorial content on hellwafashion will remain priceless, no if’s or buts or marketing heavyweight will change the policy. So when we talk about shopping in Dubai, or the events we’ve attended or send out e-mails about beautiful fashionable things we have found out and about in the GCC, we use our very own independent fashion barometer (and no that can’t be bought either). We don’t need bread on the table (too many carbs) but, we do need candy on our arms, and without advertising we couldn’t buy designer handbags and you wouldn’t read about beautiful fashionable things in the Middle East. We sell advertising on the site, and like Chanel Handbags it is clearly and discreetly labeled. So, if you occasionally get an e-mail which has been paid for by an advertiser it will say " brought to you by [the name of company], or brought by [name of company], from [name of company] or presented by [Name of Company] or powered by [Name of Company] or (with [Name of Company]) again this would denote that this is sponsored post. Advertisers have the option to place visual ads on our site and in our e-mails and this will be a very obvious traditional online ad. Competitions: We encourage our advertisers to run interactive campaigns that give back to our readers (either in the form of a prize or a discount)as such competitions are always sponsored, the company using a competition as a form of advertising pays us a sponsorship fee to run the competition & pays (you) the lucky reader the prize. The company gets a really interactive campaign, with measurable results, we get some money so we can reinvest in hellwafashion & you (or if you you then another lucky reader!) gets a prize. Clever because everyone wins right? Yes, we think so. We are trying to work with advertisers to ensure that all our campaigns give back to our readers. We would rather an interactive competition or a promotional offer which adds value to the reader rather than bombard our precious database with advertorial. We also feel that interactive campaigns or campaigns where we ask readers for their opinion or to review a product offer a much better ROI for our clients. We are very happy to suggest ideas to clients or work together until we come up with a unique, creative advertising campaign. We can use text, video, social media & photography to come up with interesting campaigns which our readers will enjoy & benefit from. Many of our advertisers return to us or engage in ongoing campaigns as a result of our creative ideas. We would respectfully ask that advertisers do not ask us to imbed products in our editorial. We will not give coverage in return for a gift, nor will we accept an event invitation in return for a gaurantee of coverage. Our readers are intelligent, educated and loyal with money to spend, we want to show them the same respect & dedication they have showed us for the past two years. So, there ya go – and of course goes without saying, our database is not for sale, we put your e-mail address on the same pedestal as an Hermès birkin bag. It takes a lot of time, effort, money and networking to get your e-mail address, which makes it a “fashion must have” and not something you would ever see on sale or at a swapping party. So, read on, sign up and be fashionable, be beautiful. |
